Metcalfe House Reviews

It is spacious for large groups, clean and good parking space. Pool table was good entertainment but requires some maintenance
Imogen
Lovely home with everything you might need for a family weekend away. Perfectly stocked with crockery and cutlery with a massive dining table to seat everyone. The house was clean & tidy with modern bedrooms and bathrooms. A fab place for a family Christmas gathering!
Angela
Lovely house. Everything there that you could possibly need.
Excellent accommodation for a family gathering. The house is well maintained and really clean. The bedrooms and ensuite facilities are superb. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. We have already recommended it to friends and will continue to do so. The road is noisy but it didn't spoil our stay. We would definitely like to come back.
Judith
Metcalfe House is a great place to stay for a large family or group of friends. I was slightly concerned about the adjacent camping site but it was no problem at all. It was easy to make contact with the owners if required. Bedding and towels very new and clean. Not all large properties actually have room for everyone to eat together or relax together. We had a great stay.

The property was very spacious and we really enjoyed the snookerpool tables. That was one of the biggest highlights to our stay. There was plenty of space for us to park, we had 5 cars and it was not an issue. The rooms and beds were presented really well, with towels provided. Finding the house was not an issue, we were given very clear instructions on how to find where we was staying, also the instructions for the keys were easy to locate. There was a lot of local activities and places to visit nearby. Unfortunately, there were a few downfalls to this property as there was 17 of us staying here for 5 days and there wasnt enough toiletries provided. There was one bin bags provided to put our rubbish in for 5 days and there was no food bags provided to put our food waste away. There was also a neighbour who kept complaining about the noise during day time hours. The neighbour came around to the back of the property to the garden gate and was peeping through saying that we need to turn the music down as they wanted to sleep at 5pm. We had young children and girls in the garden at the time the neighbour peeping through. This is unacceptable. The property itself was as displayed but the lack of cleanliness was quite bad, the floor wasnt mopped or hoovered and there was a lot of cobwebs throughout the property with dead flies and bugs along the windows and floors. The ping pong table was broken and out of use, it wasnt like as it was shown in the pictures. The WiFi was really really bad at this property, we relied on this as there is no servicereception in the area we stayed. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and stay at this property but there are a few things listed above that would attention to make this stay perfect.
Georgina
Amazing property, better than the photos, lovely location, next to a tiny campsite with chickens and beautiful views. Spotlessly clean. Owners were really helpful and friendly. Perfect for a group family gathering. Great location to visit Glastonbury etc. Would definitely recommend.
Antislip mats and grab handles in the large showers are needed, especially for oldies. Your description doesnt mention that you have a bbq. A simpler code for the WiFi would be appreciated. Otherwise, wellappointed a spacious holiday accommodation.
Darren
There was plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to choose from and the overall cleanliness was good. And there are plenty of utensils in the kitchen to use. We had a problem with working out the hot water as it only came on at certain times. there was also strange noises in early hours of the morning between 3 and 5 like someone running up and down the stairs and a banging sound like someone banging on a wall which all seemed ghost like as it wasnt us doing it . Also the cars going by from the near by road was a little loud. But none of this prevented us from having a great family weeks stay at the property. Would stay again thanks.
Rachel

We had a lovely week at the house, it was well equipped and very clean in an excellent location. We were a family group celebrating a 70th birthday and had a joyous and memorable stay. Many thanks Iain.
