Osprey House Portland Reviews

Elizabeth
Lovely place. Everything we wanted and needed.
Rosemary
Osprey House is very comfortable, and beautifully furnished. There is lots of space in the kichen dining room with the sitting room on the second floor, very light and airy especially when the sun shone through the windows. The bedrooms had very comfortable beds. The only thing I would add is perhaps get rid of the broken garden furniture. Adding to that, we were delighted to see bats flying around and my granddaughter took a photograph of a hedgehog. We are still trying to work out how it got in the garden.
Property was perfect and in a great location.
A lovely property which is not only beautifully decorated but also very practical. Great for families or groups of friends as there is ample space to spread out or join together. The kitchen is really well equipped and there is ample crockery, cutlery, cups and glasses. The only property I have ever been to that I didn't actually have to bring my little Italian coffee maker! Family visited a few times while we were staying there and all loved the place too. A true home away from home.
We absolutely love Osprey house. It was our 2nd visit & have already booked for next year. It is such a beautiful property & I don't think I can honestly think of a single negative to say. Only thing I would say was the door lock was slightly stiff. It was very much home from home. We had the best stay! Thank you so much
Richard
Everything we needed with excellent facilities and comfortable surroundings, furniture and beds. Bedding had to be requested despite it being an 8 person booking and previous email requesting the truckle bed was made up. Arrived promptly when requested via your call centre. Cleaning could be better. The kitchen floor needs a deep cleanmop and the truckle bed needed a deep clean and hoover before my guest could use it. Very tidy and neat but cleanliness was a bit superficial. Other than that it was a great stay in a nice house with excellent facilities although the audiovideo setup was a bit baffling for an old bloke like me
A truly stunning holiday property with everything you could wish for. The furnishings and decoration are extremely tasteful with every possible appliance available the main TV and sound system is amazing. The location is fantastic for seeing the whole Dorset Coast. We would thoroughly recommend this property. An added plus for us was the fantastic weather during our stay very lucky.
The house was perfect. Very clean very well maintained. Just one thing it only had one double bed. Two divans that you could push together would be good. Apart from that very minor detail I couldn't fault the house at all . Thank you for a wonderful holiday . Julie
Oliver
A great home for 2 families to share with plenty of living accomodation as well as spacious bedrooms. The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped and the booking process was easy and the information provided and arrival instructions perfect.
Michelle
We really enjoyed our stay lovely property very well equipped we would book again. Clearer central heating instructions would have been appreciated rather than pointing you to a complex manufacturers booklet.
A spacious well equipped house in a great location.
We had a great stay at Osprey House. It had everything you needed. Very well equipped. Comfortable. Lots of space. Nice walks along the harbour.

The property was as advised and very comfortable. Gaining entry was simple and straight forward, the house keeps warm very well and all the facilities and additional handy items were thoughtful eg. fan heaters in each bedroom, walking sticks, binoculars, books, DVDs, etc.. The only area of improvement are the window blinds, some were stuck or broken, so we could not open the mail window blind on the first floor bedroom. Also, having a sitting room on the first floor was a bit odd, but we got used to it eventually.
Jonathan
Property could do with a general clean. The oven was filthy and has not been cleaned in a long time. Property very nice and location good, shame about the cleanliness, especially that you cannot get into the property until 4pm which means you lose the best part of a day of your holiday.
Fantastic property! On arrival the house was spotless. Everything you could possibly think of was there, all kitchen utensils, games, dvds, cds & books. A very well presented spacious house & furnished beautifully. Would highly recommend for a family holiday to Dorset. Thank you.
We enjoyed our stay at Osprey House again. It is a very clean, comfortable and well equipped house, close to the beach, marina, cafes, pubs and shops. We are looking forward to returning again later this year. The perfect holiday location for usthank you.
Georgina
Great place but the heating wasn't good upstairs. Someone came quickly to try to fix it but it was still cold.
Lovely house, perfect for our family holiday to Weymouth. The house was clean with the exception of a few minor details cobwebs and the door in the ensuite needed a wipe The beds were comfortable, shower amazing and the washing machine and tumble dryer were a bonus. We loved the house and would stay here again without a doubt. Thank you
First time ever, no complimentary bottle of wine or cake. Lovely house with a lot of gadgets

Really lovely property. Spacious kitchen on the ground floor and spacious living room on the first floor. Location was great to visit different parts of the area easily. Parking for two cars really useful. We booked for 8 people 4 adults and 4 children. The downstairs twin room was only made up for one though, and the pullout under bed was a bit grubby, with the space under the bed looking like it hadnt been cleaned in a while noted by our friend who slept on the pullout. We did find the extra bedding though so easily sorted. Everywhere else was spotless. The children loved all of the board games and dvd collection during the rainy spells. The adults appreciated the beer fridge. One comment was we could do with a washing line in the garden to hang wet towels and swimsuits. We spent a lovely week here and would happily visit again.
Was a fab house. Plenty of everything, comfort, facilities and views. we had a boiler problem and the caretakers came straight away and it was fixed by the morning, wonderful service.
Hilary
All the family enjoyed their stay in this lovely house. It was furnished and equipped so well. We admired all the paintings, and appreciated how well stocked was the kitchen. The wine fridge was a very useful addition. The new LIDL store on the road to the sailing centre was very convenient. There is also a Tescos in Portland.
Heather
Great house and had plenty of rooms space, so ideal for larger family holidays. Location was great to get to Weymouth, West Bay and around Dorset. Loved the interior in the house aswell. Couldn't find the travel cot on arrival, however one quick phone call and someone was happy to assist however we then found it so was no need. If you want a family staycation in Dorset then you cannot go wrong with staying here.
Sharon
It was a lovely house with everything you could possibly need. Very quiet and peaceful, lovely surroundings very close to 2 local pubs. Lovely spacious lounge and kitchen diner, perfect for our family of 7.
Daniel
Very comfortable and spacious house in Portland. Would recommend and go back. Cove Inn and Quiddles cafe highly recommended and within walking distance.
The house was in an amazing location, not far from the beach and in easy access to local pubs, also a short drive to Weymouth town centre. The only thing I would say is that the cleanliness could have been improved, the grill pan needed cleaning before we used it and some of the glasses weren't great either. Apart from that it was great! I would however ensure you take amenties with you for the kitchen basics are provided but may need some cling film, foil, condiments etc we would definitely stay here again 100.
Michael
Local facilities in Portland could have been better and little to do in evening without going further a field. i.e. Weymouth Booking tables at local restaurants was a problem.
Would be nicer if property had satterlite tv
The house was fantastic! Couldn't have asked for more, plenty of space for 8 of us, and everything we needed was there, the area was so lovely and really enjoyed looking round the island. Would definitely recommend, and I would book to go there again.
The house was fantastic and in a great position close to the Marina and Chesil beach. The house was spacious enough for all members of the family to find somewhere to chill out and do their own thing. We all really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this house to anyone.
This was a superb house that was extremely easy to relax in and close to the beach 5 min walk.
Excellent property hence why we rebooked immediately when we arrived for next year. Thank you
A very well equipped house, nicely furnished and very clean and comfortable. Would recommend. Stayed September 2016
A very comfortable and well equipped house. Ideal as a base for sailing events stayed August 2016
Tatiana
