Rock Lobster Reviews

Having to bring your own bedding or pay around 70 for hiring bedding from eco laundry was a pain for me. I couldnt bring my own because I dont have king size bedding so had to hire. I was staying on my own with children so after a long drive to the property I then had to make all the beds which took me around 1 hour! I didnt appreciate how unwelcoming it is to arrive to unmade beds. Also the layout of the property wasnt good for me. Having lots of stairs meant I was constantly running up and down. In a few of the doorways upstairs bathroom and kitchen the carpet grippers are sticking through the carpet which were sharp and dangerous. We put folded towels on these. The house itself was clean and had nice views and very close to the village theres a very steep road down to village. A welcome pack with milk, maybe some Cornish treats would have made it welcoming. I probably wouldnt stay here again unfortunately.

Great stay, have booked this property several times now, lovely accommodation & views my only sugggestions would be to freshen up the cushionsthrows in living room all smell a little musty and ensure the pillow protectors are washed
Really lovely property, with a stunning view. Sofa was comfortable, so were the beds. Plenty of utensils in the kitchen, washing machine and hoover is handy as well. Only thing I would say if I was being picky was that there were a lot of gamesthings left in the living room, so didnt have much room for our things in the coffee table unit.
Could use a drip coffee maker.

Thank you for a lovely holiday. The location and views were fantastic. Loved the 2 ensuites and allowed the children to have a room each with a TV for each of us thank you I did struggle to work the oven so would be really good to have all the instructions in a welcome booklet. The cleanliness of the piace not so good either lots of dust, hoover needs an upgrade and more zoom to its power. And lastly an outdoor shower for wetsuits would be very handy. But thank you we love Port Issac and will be back. Xx

Disgusting that you have to bring your own towels and bedding windows had to be cleaned inside outside space was disgusting never been cleaned another job we had to do no directions for cooker so no idea how to work it toaster blew all the electrics no welcome pack tiny rooms to squeeze as many people in as possible only good part nice views
We loved our stay at this fantastic property. The views were better than we expected and probably deserve more focus on the advert! Really well stocked, in Particular the kitchen had everything including sharp knives! Unusual for a holiday cottage. Mattresses are the only thing that we didn't get on with, there were even electric car hookups in the public car park 30seconds from the property. Highly recommend staying here and for the money I don't think you could find better

We really enjoyed this stay and the house is lovely. We definitely felt like not including some of the amenities made it less homey, less like an Airbnb type home from home stay and more like when you rent a static caravan. This brought the rating down for me as having to bring bedding, towels and tea towels means you're having to pack more! We only had one hand soap in one bathroom, having handsoap in all bathrooms and the kitchen is a welcome homely touch and guests wouldn't think about bringing handsoap to a holiday home so we had to share a handsoap between 4 toilets and 6 people. Other than this one point, the house is lovely, the location is stunning and we had such a lovely holiday. The layout of the kitchen area is perfect and the sofa was comfy which is not very common when you stay away somewhere!! Overall, loved it and if the points I made about making it more homely and relaxing for guests to visit were received and actioned, this would be a perfect property!!
A stunning property with amazing views. Only criticism is that the cleanliness wasn't great and we arrived to a dishwasher full of dirty crockery, some so stained that we had to wash it several times. Also many tumblers were chipped. Other than that we had a fantastic holiday and would return.
Excellent property with stunning views out to sea. Breathtaking ! All the comforts of home and morewe will definitely be back .
The mattress on the double on the top floor is well past its best. The matress protectors are tired and need replacing. Especially when you have super king cover on a king size bed
Property was awesome, better than described with views to die for. Loads of thoughtful touches with games for the kids to play with etc. The only down side was the cleaning company who let themselves into the property before we were scheduled to check out. They loaded all their cleaning chemicals into the hallway where the kids shoes were situated and stood around until I asked them to leave. Very unprofessional letting themselves into the property before the allotted time and without our permission. Left a small sour taste on and amazing break. We would definitely book with the owners again
A beautiful well positioned home only issue ws the showers had black mould which smelled, we cleaned the shower trays to remove the mould and subsequent smell before use. Otherwise good.
We had a lovely week . The property is lovely everything you need for you stay . Lovely location. We looked for booking up for next year bur could not see it available.
Thank you for such a great stay. The house is beautiful and furnished and equipped to a high standard. The views are amazing and the house is convenient for walking into Port Isaac and coastal walks to Polzeath and Tintagel. There are plenty of options for eating in Port Isaac and a small CoOp nearby. This was one of the best holidays we have had in Cornwall.

We have stayed at a few John Bray rentals in Castle Rock and this was the worst experience we have had. The property had an end of season feeling a window lock broken, bulb out, carpets filthy and stained with wine. The housekeeping was poor with a blocked shower drain and a significant number of kitchen utensils dirty and requiring washing. The properties are also now showing their age. The master bedroom bed was soft as were the dining area chairs. Most of the symbols on the cooker have worn off so using was trial and error. Worst of all was the positioning of the bed in the master bedroom. It was side on against a wall which is completely unacceptable. On the positive side we enjoy staying in the development. The views and village location are great and the parking a real bonus. This was our first disappointing stay in a John Bray property.
We have stayed at Rock Lobster a number of times and really enjoy it's location, Views and comfort. This time though the carpets needed a clean but otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
We had a fantastic stay at Rock Lobster, house was perfect for our big family group and just loved the views
