Tregonhawke Farmhouse Reviews

Malcolm
The Rame Peninsula is a hidden gem and the farmhouse is superbly positioned for all it offers. The owners are delightful and helpful and the house is spacious and great for families and dogs. The garden is beautiful and very secure. Within a day the narrow lanes become familiar routes to delights, whether the stunning beach but beware the significant climb to it or visiting the fantastic Mount Edgcumbe Country Park and the pretty coastal villages. The views to Plymouth are amazing. The Coop in Millbrook will cater for all your needs along with a cracking good fish and chip shop. Highly recommended

We didn't bring towels so that was the only problem. We bought some locally. Usually they are provided. I know it was mentioned on email to bring personal towel but we forgot.
The farmhouse is beautiful, has a glorious garden and is situated close to the village and a beach although the access to this is difficult Everything was very clean, beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped, but the dishwasher was not working properly important with a large group. One tele did not work at all & the other was unreliable the downstairs shower overflowed and the wifi only worked well in the kitchen. However, our group enjoyed the stay and thought the locals very friendly & welcoming
We had a fantastic holiday and I couldnt recommend the cottage enough. There were 12 of us in total and there was still ample of room. We were lucky enough to enjoy the sunshine in the lovely garden and if you do your research there are lots of lovely placesvillages to visit nearby
Benjamin
We had a great time. We went for a family holiday, and that is what we were able to enjoy with lots of family and friends staying at the house, including a 5month old baby. The property is large and probably best suited to parties like ours who need plenty of living space in a lovely location with the opportunity to get to the beach easily or out on walks. It's not suited to those looking for snug hideaways but that should be obvious to anyone looking at it. It was terrific for us large and clean and really well located. When we needed to contact the owners they were easy to contact and very helpful. Thank you. It was a great family holiday and the house was a central part of that.
Joanne
The cottage is very pretty and homely. We loved seeing the local wildlife and the farm animals from out of the windows. We used the local Co op in Milbrook a couple of times and enjoyed the fish and chips from Ben's Plaice. Two lovely meals in The Edgecombe Arms in Cremyl. Just a couple of niggles. The downstairs bedroom was a tad dark for us. The beach is lovely however wasn't accessible for some of our group due to the steepness of the climb down. Saying that it wouldn't put us off booking again.
Suzanne
Really enjoyed our stay. Great house. Great location. Would definitely book again. thank you.
Andrew
Beautful old farmhouse just a short distance from the coast all be it via a rather steep path. Plenty of room for a large family gathering, and well equipped kitchen to feed everyone. Only minor complaint, a second frying pan would be handy and as much fun as the plancher barbecue was to use, I think a standard set up would be more convenient.
We were blown away by our stay here. Every single one of us had something we loved about the farm house. The garden is absolutely beautiful and big enough for your family to run around and play. There are so many rooms, which helps as your family dont end up fighting over who gets which room Having two front rooms is a blessing for many reasons. I honestly have nothing negative to say, it truly was the most magical stay. It feels like a home from home, one that we didnt want to leave. Thank you for making our stay perfect.
Elaine
We stayed here for one week, 8 adults and 3 children. The place was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. We all enjoyed ourselves. Lovely family house.
A lovely old farmhouse in a nice setting . Enough crockery and pans to cook for a big group. We were visited by two frogs about the size of a moth. They dont do any harm. Maybe if people dont like them some cheap solar lights by the doors would deter them. Approached by narrow winding roads with hedgerows, There is ample parking space on site we had four cars. You would have to drive if you need supplies or go for a day out. Roads so narrow you have to back down to allow oncoming cars to get past. Nearby beach is a challenge a deep incline to reach, a little cafe but no WC. Despite this we had quality time as a large family. Eight adults three children .
Samantha
Lovely place and very friendly helpful owners. Everything you need there to enjoy your stay. The beach close by is amazing but is a hike to get up and down the steps, great that 2 parking spaces are available from the owners. Other places near by to enjoy.
Louise
Second visit in 5 years. Really enjoyed our stay but feel we needed chairs for garden like last time hand soap in all bathrooms, salt and pepper and basic cooking ingredients. We also missed toys and games for the kids but having said that will definitely come back again
We really enjoyed our stay at Tregonhawke Farmhouse. It was very comfortable, with lots of room to spread out, and is very well stocked with everything needed for a larger group plenty of cutlery, dishes, glasses, etc.. It is in a great location with a wide variety of activities in close proximity, and the garden at the Farmhouse is a wonderful spot to enjoy some quieter moment with lots of room for children and dogs to run around safely. Mark and Rebecca were available for any questions and were happy to provide beach and pub recommendations when asked. Highly recommend!
We hired Tregonhawke Farm for my husband's 50th birthday celebration weekend. We had multiple generations staying ranging from 1 to 80 years! The house was perfect for our needs. Spacious enough to give everyone enough room but the lovely Farmhouse Kitchen provided a great cosy, communal area and was well equipped. Also, high chairs and cots provided by the owners. The garden is beautiful and gets sun for most of the day, fortunately we were blessed with good weather. Also very quiet and peaceful. This is a beautiful, undiscovered part of Cornwall. Rame Head is a two mile walk along the coastal path from Tregonhawke and is stunning. Also, great walks around Mount Edgecumbe. Would also recommend KingsandCawsand for a pint and The Canteen at Maker Heights for food. Thank you to Rebecca and family for hosting us a great weekend, would definately recommend Tregonhawke Farmhouse
Lovely location. House on arrival was not in a great state of cleanliness. Kitchen cupboards were unclean and the glasses werent all clean. Dishwasher came in handy for this. Beds were super comfy and the bedding was spotless. You get what you pay for and for the price of the cottage I think it was very fair. We had a great family get together but a thorough clean would make all the difference. Our mother had a fall whilst there and a first aid kit would have been invaluable.
Great stay, perfect for a family group. Offered a flexibility of accommodation that suited everyones needs. Kitchen very well stocked with everything needed. Very well situated in a beautiful area and very close to the coast. Only negative was that some plates had the remains of food on them and the trays in the oven were extremely greasy. This could have been easily remedied if a small amount of washing up liquid and three dishwasher tablets for the three nights we stayed were provided along with a disposable dishcloth. However, we still had a fabulous time and would recommend the farm without hesitation.
Stephanie
The Cottage was fabulous! Loved the layout, so much room ! Lovely and clean. The different coloured blankets to match each room looked great and really added to the welcoming feeling . Thank you, we had a wonderful week
Christine
I could find no fault with this lovely farmhouse! It was extremely comfortable and well equipped. We had a bit of trouble lighting the log burner but Rebecca sent someone who remedied that and afterwards it was fine. Very cosy! It is quite isolated which suited us very well but might be a consideration for families with small children. Thank you to the hosts for a lovely holiday.
Gordon
The only down side was the standard of cleanliness in certain areas. We found sweet wrappers under the sofas in the main living room & a food residue in a number of the cooking pots & pans.
Had a lovely stay. Only downside was the internet frequently dropping out, which was a full on crisis for the teenagers!!! It also meant that the TV was pretty hopeless, especially in the larger sitting room. Enjoyed the BBQ! Kitchen well stocked with everything we could possibly need. All rooms clean, airy and pleasant. Garden safe and peaceful most noise was from birds and sheep!
Absolutely stunning house and owners are so friendly and helpful. Had more than we needed and was so homely for us. Perfect location within walking distance of the local village which has necessities and lovely little coffee shopstea rooms. Also very close to a lovely coastal front with private access to a car park provided by owners. Will definitely want to book again!
Loved our stay, beautiful home in beautiful countryside. Thank you
Overall very good. only drawback was very slow broadband
Cathryn
We had a fabulous time the location was Superb we would love to return back one day. Thank you
Graham
Hi, had a brilliant family holiday, fantastic place, great for exploring, thank you very much.
Richard
Tregonhawke farmhouse is beautiful, well equipped, home from home. Had an amazing family holiday 9 adults and 4 grandchildren
Malcolm
Charming lovely old farm house full of character and nooks and crannies. Beautiful sea views not far from the house which boasts a large peaceful garden.
The owners of the property were very nice people and extremely approachable.
Gordon
Despite not being permitted into the property till 6pm due to the understandable extra cleaning required during these Covid 19 times, there were a number of issues with overall cleanliness especially with kitchen utensils needing to be washed before use. The owners were very helpful and provided very useful information on arrival. The enclosed garden was a massive hit for all the children and indeed the whole family. The local beach is stunning and the reserved parking at the top of the hill was a blessing. Edgcumbe Park is a must to visit and provided hours of entertainment for the whole family.
Avital
We had such a wonderful time in this beautiful house. big and comfortable for 2 families with 5 children ranging in age, lovely situated with an easy access to a unique beach and a nearby village. the host is very nice. highly recommended!!!
The farm house was ideal for the family 12 in total with 6 children, five of whom were 7 and under. The garden was large and safe for the children to play in and for all of us to sit and relax. The children loved playing in it . The dedicated car parking for Tregonhawke Farmhouse, at the top of Donkey Lane, was a bonus a number of cars parked incorrectly on the road at the top of Treganhawke bay, were given parking tickets!!! A small suggestion would be the provision of a second TV somewhere in the house. The TV with DVD in the playroom was great for the children but no free view available on it and WiFi could be improved. However the weather was lovely and little tv watching was carried out. Free fishing, as advertised when we booked, was not available.
The farmhouse is perfect for large families,Ten of us went, three generations including four children between five and thirteen and a dog. A lovely location, good kitchen facilities and a boot room. We loved it.
