Cherry Tree House Reviews

Elaine
Owners very friendly and accomodating. Had a power cut but they kept us informed and provided torches. Kerry messaged me often with updates and wishing us a good time. Bunk beds and single room were too small for adults, this may need to be stated in descriptions on website. None of this encroached on our stay. We had a really good stay
A brilliant stay at Cherry Tree House. Clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. Great location and excellent hosts who made everything easy. Would definitely return and highly recommend.
Perfect property for a quiet family getaway. The noise wasn't an issue despite seeing a few reviews saying that it is. Would book again! Thank you to the hosts!
We enjoyed our 5 nights at the property. The location was convenient for what we were wanting to do. The cottage has all the facilities that we needed. We couldnt hear the road noise while in the kitchen or living room but could hear it in the front 2 bedrooms. If the twin room at the back had been made up I would have moved in there after the first night. Im sure I could have asked the owners for bedding for that room but decided not to bother them, would have been nice to have all the rooms made up though so we could have had the choice. Thicker curtains in the bedrooms would cut out car lights and also the security light from across the road during the night. Thanks for the biscuits etc. The butter spread in the fridge had previously been used so we didnt use it. We were going to use the oven to keep some food warm but the oven trays were a bit greasy so didnt use them didnt use the oven at all just the hob. Larger towels and an extra blanket for the beds would have been appreciated. Convenient location for coastal walks, Cheddar Gorge and Bristol train from local town.
We spent a week in this lovely holiday home. The pictures on Sykes Holiday Cottages were exactly as it is. The owners live nextdoor, but we're in no way intrusive. There is a lovely sheltered garden with a BBQ and pizza oven that the owner offered to show us how to use. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow for this. Spacious enough for a family to stay, without being on top of each other.
Ideal place for a family gathering, great for our youngsters with toys and a secure garden. Owners handy and helpful. Hot weather meant open windows, so traffic noise was a little intrusive, but we had a great time.

We had a lovely week with extended family in the property. We were 4 adults and 5 children. The house is a good size and comfortably fit us all. The owners live directly behind the house. A few things we would like to have been aware of before hand or would suggest adding The property is situated very close to the road and accessed through the back door. The front door is not used as so close to the road with no pavement. The pictures and description give the impression it is a rural setting but we found the traffic noise quite a big problem waking us by 5am. Lorries opposite from a yard started moving by 7am. The road is a cut through to the M5 and to Burnham on sea. Although the property is double glazed, it didnt keep out the traffic noise, so we were obviously unable to sleep with any windows open at the front. Luckily, it wasnt a heat wave whilst we stayed but I would suggest putting some free standing fans in each room as an option for comfort to sleep when hot. When windows are open when we woke early! you can also hear the constant hum of the M5 which is situated across the fields and visible from the master bedroom about 12 a mile away. We ended up buying ear plugs for those in the front bedrooms. I completely understand everyones definition of noisy is different but we just found it disappointing as the adults all had poor sleep due to the noise and early morning waking! We were very surprised that this hadnt be mentioned in any other reviews of the property. The facilities are all great, we made use of the BBQ and pizza oven even in the rain! and there was plenty of kitchenware for 9 of us. Just take extra ttowels as only 1 provided. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer which was very welcome with 5 children!! It would be really handy to have a washing basket provided to carry clothes to hang outside. The master bedroom would also really benefit from a dressing table as the only mirror in the room apart from in the ensuite was by the door with no plug socket near by to drystyle hair etc. Luckily, I brought a hair dryer as not provided and used a free standing mirror from another room propped up on the bed. All in all we had a lovely family break spending time together which made it very special.
Thank you so much Kerry and Craig! We couldnt have hoped for a more perfect weekend celebrating our friends engagement! The house was fantastic and we were able to make the most of the big lounge, dining room, pizza oven and bbq
Stephen
A very enjoyable stay. Nice, clean big house where we all had plenty of room
Lovely property. Very clean and well stocked and we appreciated the goodies.
Stephen
We would have liked more cutlery and a wider variety of kitchen utensils. With our large party, we kept running out! Otherwise, everything was lovely!
Frances
Cherry Tree House was perfect for our New Years getaway. It was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. The hosts who live in the house next door were so helpful and even lent us a CD player for our murder mystery night. The property has an amazing pizza oven and is close to local amenities. You definitely need a car to get around but that wasn't a problem for us. Would definitely recommend
We stayed at Cherry Tree House over Christmas to celebrate an 80th birthday. The house was lovely and had everything we needed for a family getaway. Craig and Kerry were the perfect hosts, decorating with a Christmas tree and leaving treats to make the stay extra special as well as being available for any queries. The photos on the website don't do justice to the amazingly spacious house. We may need to return so that we can explore the area in better weather
A lovely property, and conveniently located. We were 6 adults and 3 children and suited us great. Thanks
Very impressed, perfect for our daughter's wedding day preparations. Thanks for the bubbly.
Barbara
We have been staying in self catering properties for over 40 years and this has got to be one of the best ever. The location is perfect with easy access to the shops, seaside, town and country. When we arrived everything was spotlessly clean, quality bedding and equipment and warm making the house a peasure to stay in. What makes the property extra special are the owners who were really friendly and helpful Craig and Kelly thank you for making us feel so welcome.
Stayed here with 5 adults and had a wonderful time in this lovely house. It's clean, comfortable with a nice garden and has good parking. Owners are friendly and helpful. It is in a lovely area and close to lots of places to visit. We had a great meal at nearby Rich's Cider and some nice walks in the evening from the house to Watchfield Inn and The Beer Shed. We would all love to stay here again.
We have just returned from a lovely stay at Cherry Tree House. The cottage is beautiful and has everything we needed and more to make it a comfortable stay. Its ideally located to explore Somerset and is a real home from home. Its very spacious with a lovely garden area so perfect for larger groups. Wed definitely return and would highly recommend to anybody who is looking to stay in the Somerset area.

Fantastic property and very enjoyable stay. Kerry and Craig very welcoming and helpful. Very well equipped and comfortable house. A little traffic noise from the road but otherwise we could not fault Cherry Tree House, near all amenities and attractions such as Cheddar and Wookey Hole. Thank you Kerry and Craig for being so accommodating. Gill K.

We loved our stay at Cherry Tree house. The house is immaculate and very comfortable. We were a group of ladies, just there for the weekend, so it was perfect for us. The owners are just next door and are extremely helpful. Lovely to have the pizza oven and BBQ too!
This is a lovely property, it is spacious and the bedrooms are comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and there are 2 bathrooms 1 ensuite and a downstairs toilet too. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We had a great family break here it was perfect for us. Thank you.
Matthew
The property was very spacious & the facilities provided were excellent. One thing which we would like to share was perhaps an outdoor washing line may be useful. We found that the heating a little difficult to work so found times in the evening that we were a little cold but did make use of the fire.
Charlie
What a beautiful home. We loved our stay for a few days over n the new year, and was very impressed by how beautiful the house was for our stay. The owners were really attentive and responded to any messages we sent very quickly, which was very helpful. Really happy with our stay, thank you for having us.
Richard
Thank you so much for the stay, you made us all very welcome. The house is very spacious with a separate dinning room and a huge living room. The house was very warm in December and wellequipped with everything we needed for our stay. For anyone staying with older relatives there is a downstairs toilet and the stairs are easy to negotiate with a landing half way up the flight of stairs. The location is very convenient to get to and is an excellent place to visit the North Somerset coast and the Mendips.
Elisabeth
For a family get together over a weekend it was fine. The bathrooms and toilet were very nice. And there were some very tasty biscuits and chocolates left for us. We were concerned that in the bunk bedroom the shelves are not attached to the wall. Given the likelihood of children being in there, that is a serious risk to children. It would be helpful to have a mirror in each of the bedrooms. We drink a lot of teacoffee in our family and a few more mugs might be helpful so that if the dishwasher is running, there are still some mugs available. Some normal sized dinner plates might also be helpful. There were 9 of us, and a few cars but only one back door key! So a couple more keys would be helpfulit wasn't possible to open the front door. A few books on the bookshelf in the lounge might have made it seem more cosy. We appreciated having the Christmas tree there and with the lights on it. For a family weekend away it was what we needed and it was pleasant to have a stroll on the seafront at Weston which was only about 1520 mins away.
Had a great stay, beautiful house, lovely big rooms & high ceilings, all kitted out with nice furniture & finishes. Great welcome & friendly & helpful hosts where nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommended.
Very spacious place, close to shops and other amenities. Kerry and Craig are very friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommended.
Nice place, everything you need and good location to do lots with the kids
